International Partnerships
The BJCA is now becoming involved in a range of international collaborations with other cardiologist in training bodies from across the world. Details are listed below:
ESC Cardiologists of Tomorrow (CoT)
ESC CoT is an ESC community dedicated to cardiologists in training. Further details are available here. Useful information on research grants, educational activities, conference tracks, and awards targeted at cardiologists in training is available.
European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) Club 35
Club 35 is a membership category of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) specifically designed to cater for the needs of young echocardiographers (under 35 years old). It aims to provide education, research and training specific to the needs of the next generation of echocardiographers. Further details are available here.
ACC British & Irish Professionals
The American College of Cardiology have launched this initiative in order to improve links between Cardiologists in America with those in the UK and Ireland. As part of this they have launched a Facebook page (see below for link) to act as a forum for cardiologists on both sides of the Atlantic to discuss issues related to their profession and to establish collaborative links that might lead to closer professional ties. This should be an excellent opportunity to establish contact over the pond and perhaps might be a gateway to gaining some clinical experience or research in America. In particular this should provide a starting point in organising an overseas fellowship in the United States.
