Dr Lauren Tedaldi Dr Lauren Tedaldi is the Research Communications Officer at the British Heart Foundation. Following a year in Research and Development at Novartis, she carried out her PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at University College London. She was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at King?s College London for four years, investigating drug-like molecules for a family of enzymes involved in metastases and inflammation ? the glycosyltransferases. Her experience in Science Communication ranges from explaining radical chemistry to patent lawyers and writing public guides on endocrine disruptors, to teaching school children about oxidation and convincing journalists to write about ischemic heart disease. In the last six months, the Research Communications team at the British Heart Foundation have secured national and international press coverage on diverse topics from electron microscopy and genetic markers of disease, to striation patterns in failing cardiomyocytes and reactive oxygen species in muscle damage.
