Guidelines in Cardiovascular Medicine
On this page you can find the latest guidelines and updates in cardiovascular medicine, from NICE and other UK bodies. BCS does not produce guidelines itself, but contributes to the work of other organisations such as NICE by providing expert opinion through our membership.

The following NICE guidance in cardiovascular medicine have been published or updated:
Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN)The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) develops evidence based clinical practice guidelines for the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland. SIGN guidelines are derived from a systematic review of the scientific literature and are designed as a vehicle for accelerating the translation of new knowledge into action to meet our aim of reducing variations in practice, and improving patient-important outcomes. There are several guidelines in the field of Cardiovascular Medicine, visit the SIGN website to download these guidelines. European Society of Cardiology (ESC)As a National Society of the European Society of Cardiology, BCS endorses the clinical guidelines that the ESC produce. There are 32 clinical guidelines in current use. Visit the ESC Guidelines website to download abridged versions and summaries of these guidelines. American College of Cardiology (ACC)The American College of Cardiology produces regular clinical practice guidelines in every area of cardiovascular medicine.
