Travel Award
REGULATIONS

Only applications from fully subscribed BACR members who have subscribed for at least the past 2 years will be considered.

The purpose of the award is to provide a sum of money up to the value of £2000 to contribute towards the cost of travel to attend an innovative course/conference or to visit a centre of special interest/expertise in order to develop the applicant's knowledge in the field of cardiac rehabilitation. Please note that any BACR courses or conferences are excluded from this award.
At the discretion of the Officers, two separate amounts may be awarded as long as the total does not exceed £2000.

Applicants must provide a written statement (600 words maximum, written in English), providing explicit details of their area of work, and what the perceived benefits of the educational visit will be:

All applications to be submitted to bacr@bcs.com, who will then forward to the Secretary,Treasurer and Scientific Programme Chair for a decision. The closing date for applications will be August 31st each year.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome in writing within four weeks of the closing date for applications.

The successful applicant is required to write a report for the Cardiac Rehab UK newsletter and BACR website, and may be required to give a presentation on the outcomes/ benefits of the visit at a BACR event.

Once the award has been granted, the amount cannot be changed under any circumstances. Payment will be made on the production of receipts after the event has taken place.
