Live CMR scanning
This 90min session will cover the full range of skills required to perform a basic CMR scan at 1.5T, including safety screening, indications, patient preparation and set-up. The scan itself will be non-contrast (and non-pharmacological stress) for safety reasons. However, delegates will learn how to plan and scan using simple MR pulses sequences which will include black blood (T1/T2w), cine imaging and phase contrast velocity mapping. The session will include training from a highly experienced CMR applications specialist and an experience MR clinician.
Live transthoracic Echo
This session will include a basic introduction to transthoracic echo including patient set-up and indications. Trainees will get first had experience of scanning using 2D imaging, M-mode and Doppler (CW, PW, colour). This practical session will be supervised by a highly experienced Echo clinician for maximum interaction and acquisition of new skills.
CMR, Echo, Cardiac CT, Nuclear MPS post-processing stations
The imaging village will have 11 post-processing workstations from many of the major manufacturers covering all 4 of the core imaging modalities. In a typical 60min session you will have one-to-one training from an applications specialist and experienced clinician in that modality. You will be introduced to the software packages that are pre-loaded with a range on interesting clinical cases and then guided through basic and perhaps advanced quantitation techniques, depending on your experience to date and learning requirements.
