Dr Rohan S Wijesurendra graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2006 with MA (Cantab) in Natural Sciences (Pathology) and MB BChir (Distinctions in Pathology and Final MB and George Peter Baker Prize). He was awarded MRCP in 2009 and began speciality training as a Cardiology Registrar in the Oxford Deanery in 2011.
He is currently a BHF Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, undertaking a period of out-of-programme research towards a DPhil (PhD). This work aims to utilise advanced cardiac magnetic resonance techniques to investigate the mechanisms underlying impaired left ventricular function in patients with atrial fibrillation, and the effects of reduced burden of atrial fibrillation following catheter ablation.
