Prof Keith Muir Prof Keith Muir is a stroke neurologist, training in acute stroke & neurology in Glasgow and leading clinical stroke research at the Institute of Neurological Sciences initially as Senior Lecturer in Neurology from 2001-09, and since 2009 as SINAPSE Chair of Clinical Imaging. Main scientific interests include the application of advanced brain imaging to clinical trials as a tool for translational research, including trials of thrombolysis, thrombectomy, and physiological management. He is co-Chief Investigator for the PISTE (Pragmatic Ischaemic Thrombectomy Evaluation) trial, the PRACTISE and ATTEST 2 trials, leads UK involvement in WAKE-UP and NAVIGATE-ESUS, and is the chief investigator of the PISCES trials, the first clinical studies of human neural stem cell implantation in stroke.
